Meditation

Meditation is the goal of yoga. Period. Moving on our yoga mats to stretch, strengthen, open and release, leads to being able to sit without discomfort and to find stillness and peace. I can be your guide for this rewarding practice.

Seated Meditation

Our physical yoga practice helps us to unwind the body and the busy mind, so that at the end of a session on the mat, it is much easier to move into a meditative space.

I teach meditation in a way that helps people to find and anchor their own technique that helps them to gain control of the 'monkey mind'. When we find a technique that works, it feels like we have struck gold! And then, every time we sit on our meditation cushion, the brain knows what's coming and more quickly lets go of the crazy whirlwind of thoughts that keep our heads so busy.

When we then find a tiny gap between two thoughts, it is like a chink of light in the darkness. The mind relaxes, just a little. This is the start of meditation.

Yoga Nidra Meditation

Yoga Nidra is a sleep-based Meditation technique. The best bit is, we get to lie down and deeply rest.

I have been training with Karen Brody since September 2018 and I can honestly say that Yoga Nidra has changed my life! The programme is called Daring To Rest, because often we feel guilty to take time for ourselves to rest.

I am loving sharing this practice with my students and think everyone can benefit from this special yoga practice.

Please go to my Yoga Nidra page to find out more DARING TO REST!

Kate’s commitment, expertise and desire to develop her Yoga and Meditation practice is second to none, as is her desire to share this with others so that they too can find their place of inner peace and happiness.

Monthly Meditation Class

Please join me once a month for an informal class where we will explore a range of techniques to help you to find some space between your thoughts.

In these classes we work with breathing techniques, visualisation, counting the breath, using mudras or using sound like playing Tibetan Singing Bowls or quietly chanting OM to focus the mind.

The class is on a Thursday or Friday evening.

This class is a fundraiser for charity. Half of the class fees will go to The Railway Children, an amazing charity that works with street children in India, East Africa and the UK.

I cannot recommend Kate's classes enough. Don't think about it, just come! No-one is looking at you (except Kate), you just connect with yourself and the universe. Physical aches and pains float away, emotional stresses diminish and are put in perspective, and spiritually (if you want to) you feel more open and connected.
